An actor, producer, and writer. Best known for his role in the 1974 television series Happy Days. Henry played the role of a high school dropout and greaser Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli. Through his role as The Fonz, his leather jacket, thumbs-up gesture, and uttering of the phrase “Aayyyy!” became television and household trademarks. In the mid-1980’s Mr. Winkler focused his attention to producing such television favorites as MacGyver, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Henry currently stars in the summer television series Royal Pains. In addition to his movie and film credits, Mr. Winkler is a well accomplished author. He grew up with a high level of low self-esteem. Throughout elementary school and high school, he struggled with academics. This struggle was due to what was later identified as dyslexia. He has co-authored 12 children’s novels with Lin Oliver. The series is called Hank Zipzer, the World’s Greatest Underachiever. The books are based on his early struggles with dyslexia. Henry and his wife are actively involved in various children’s charities, such as Children’s Action Network, the National Committee for Arts for the Handicapped, and the Special Olympics.
